Why the UN Sustainable Development Goals Matter

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a global framework for addressing pressing environmental, economic, and social challenges. Adopted by all UN member states in 2015, these 17 goals set ambitious targets for a more sustainable and equitable future. Among them, SDG 6 is particularly urgent, as water scarcity, pollution, and inadequate infrastructure continue to threaten communities, economies, and ecosystems worldwide.

How ALGAESYS Contributes to SDG 6

Our technology uses natural photosynthetic processes to treat wastewater to EU Class-C reuse standards, enabling safe and reliable water recycling for agricultural, industrial, and municipal applications. We are also able to treat to EU Class-A standard with an extra step if required.

Many rural and Indigenous populations lack the infrastructure for conventional water treatment, leaving them vulnerable to unsafe water conditions. Our decentralized, solar-powered systems provide an affordable and sustainable alternative, ensuring clean water without the need for extensive infrastructure investment.

We are working towards acquiring projects where we get to partner with policymakers, businesses, and community leaders to make a greater impact in these communities. ALGAESYS aims to bridge the gap in water security, aligning with SDG 6’s vision for a future where everyone has access to safe, clean water.
